Gabe Lanza

Gabe Lanza is a Chicago-based artist who draws his artistic language from the flat world contained on the front of cereal boxes, toys and 80’s cartoons. With a sense of levity and humor, Lanza subverts conventional notions of moral value attributed to children’s entertainment. Lanza synthesizes familiar subject matter, such as robots and linear faces, with scraps and offcuts that would otherwise be discarded, resulting in images that feel both novel and nostalgic. Lanza has participated in art festivals throughout the US and Europe, and his work was selected by a panel of judges for Line Dot's Second Annual Juried Show.
